Free Hurricane Seminar At Palm Bay BCC Campus

I’m sure no one in Palm Bay Florida is excited that in less than one month we will see the start of hurricane season. It seems as though we don’t have winter and summer here in Palm Bay, we have hurricane season and the off season.

To help residents prepare better for this coming hurricane season, the City of Palm Bay and Brevard Community College are sponsoring a hurricane seminar on Saturday, May 13th from 9:00 am till 12:00 pm at the BCC Auditorium on the Palm Bay Campus.

Representatives from Palm Bay Police, Fire and Brevard County Emergency Operations will discuss preparing for a hurricane and what to do after the storm passes.

Home Depot will also be on hand to make attendees aware of the methods for securing homes and rebuilding.

A special guest will also be in attendance. Chief Meteorologist Tom Terry of WFTV Channel 9 will be on hand to talk about recent hurricanes, the 2005 hurricane season and hurricane Katrina.

I’m sure this will be an informative and well attended seminar. With recent major disasters in the last couple of years and hurricane Katrina being one of the most destructive natural disasters in history, it is vitally important to understand what you can do to be prepared in the event serious weather threatens Palm bay Florida.

The seminar is free and munchies will be provided.
