Palm Bay Florida Annexes More Land

The state of Florida will soon be renamed Palm Bay.

Just kidding there, but with the recent annexation of land by the city of Palm Bay and the completion of annexations already applied for Palm bay will grow in size from 75 square miles to 95 square miles.

In a few short years the Palm Bay we have known and loved for more than 3 decades will change hopefully for the better with all that is planned for the city.

Once of the biggest changes we will see, is the building of the Palm Bay Parkway that will alleviate some of the horrendous traffic problems we get to experience here.  The Parkway will include a new interchange with I-95 between Grant and Micco roads and will extend from that interchange, run across Babcock Street along the western borders of Palm Bay, cross 192 and meet up with I-95 again at, I think, Fiske Blvd.

I’m sure this will cause further annexation of lands along the western borders of the city as well as lots of new development. It sure won’t be the same Palm Bay we saw when my family moved here in 1967.

As big as Palm Bay is it sure would be nice to have a downtown area.
